What
should be discussed with the healthcare provider before taking Losectil?
Before
taking Losectil tell your doctor if you have any liver disease,
in that case you may need dosage adjustment or monitoring. Do not
take Losectil without your doctor's concern if you have:
Trouble
or pain with swallowing, Vomiting blood, Bloody or black stools,
Heartburn for over 3 months, Heartburn with sweating, lightheadness,
dizziness, chest, shoulder, neck, jaw, or arm pain, Frequent chest
pain, Heartburn with wheezing, Unexplained weight loss, Nausea or
vomiting, or stomach pain.
Losectil
is in the BNF pregnancy category C but several studies are there
which proves that Losectil has no teratogenic effect on fetus. Consult
your doctor before taking Losectil in pregnancy or lactating period.
What
happens if a dose is missed?
Take
the missed dose as soon as you remember. However if it is almost
the time time for next dose, skip the missed dose and take only
the next regularly scheduled dose. Do not take a double dose of
this medication unless your doctor directs otherwise.
What
to do in case of overdose?
Seek
emergency medical attention if overdose is suspected. Symptoms of
Losectil overdose include drowsiness, seizures, shortness of breath,
and decreased body temperature.
What
to avoid while taking Losectil?
If
you experience an allergic reaction (difficulty breathing, closing
of the throat, swelling of the lips, tongue, or face, or hives)
stop taking Losectil and seek emergency medical attention. Other
less serious side effects may be more likely to occur. continue
